ARINC Deploys AviNet® Airport Service for Three Major Chinese Carriers at 14 Airports.

Thursday 16th June 2011

ARINC Incorporated announced today that three major Chinese airlines--China Southern, Hainan Airlines, and China Eastern--have signed for the company's AviNet® Airport wide-area network service.

ARINC will deploy its AviNet Airport service at 14 airports in the Asia Pacific region and worldwide to support the international operations of these airlines. Some of the locations include Haneda Airport, Incheon International Airport, Vancouver International Airport, and John F Kennedy International Airport.

The AviNet Airport network solution utilizes a single IP connection to bridge the airline host systems and airport services, whether they are common-use passenger processing systems or back-office systems. This flexibility allows the airlines to support a wide range of applications, ranging from check-in and ticketing to flight information.

"We are very pleased that China Southern, Hainan Airlines, and China Eastern have chosen ARINC's AviNet Airport service to help enhance their operations while managing costs," said Jim L. Martin, Managing Director, ARINC Asia Pacific.

AviNet Airport helps airlines control operational costs with its multi-protocol support and flat pricing model. This secure, cost-effective, and robust networking solution also minimizes network downtime and interruptions. It supports the aviation industry's connectivity requirements for check-in, ticketing, baggage handling, fueling, gate management, flight information display systems (FIDS), ground handling operations, and many other applications in the airport environment.

Other Asia Pacific carriers using the AviNet Airport service include Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, Air China, Xiamen Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines Air Macau, Dragonair, All Nippon Airways, Korean Air, EVA Airways, Jin Air, and Philippine Airlines.

ARINC Incorporated, a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group, provides communications, engineering and integration solutions for commercial, defense and government customers worldwide. Headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland, with regional headquarters in London and Singapore, ARINC is ISO 9001:2008 certified.
