Unifi Aviation opens in Jersey; Offers aircraft detailing and cleaning services to business aviation operators

Unifi Aviation, part of the Unifi LLC, is expanding in Europe with the creation of Unifi Aviation Jersey, offering aviation detailing, interior and exterior cleaning to executive aircraft handled through the Fixed Based Operator (FBO) facility run by Gama Aviation.  

Unifi Aviation Jersey will complement Gama Aviation’s passenger and crew handling with s pecialist cleaning and detailing through a dedicated subsidiary, also known as Up and Away.

Unifi Aviation Jersey has opened an office within the FBO with a dedicated team of detailers available Monday to Friday.  Hours can be extended on request.

“Moving into the Channel Islands has been on our wish list for many years,” commented Stefan Murphy, CEO of Unifi Aviation UK, Ireland and Jersey.  Aircraft are subject to high salt conditions in and out of the Channel Islands, requiring regular exterior washing.  We will support the upper end of business/general aviation from Cirrus sized turboprops and jets right up to ultra long-range Gulfstream, Bombardier and Dassault business jets.  

The business can also be booked to support regional airlines operating through the FBO on sports and ad hoc charters. 

(Unifi Aviation has significantly grown its ground handling activity in the UK, notably at London Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, supporting carriers including British Airways, TUI, Qatar Airways Singapore Airlines and most recently Etihad).

Unifi Aviation enjoys a long and fruitful collaboration with Gama Aviation, which started back in 2015 with Up and Away Aviation’s acquisition of AviaLogistics.  Unifi’s detailing division is active at 21 airports and employs some 1,900 people.  In 2025 the business recruited 400 more people across its detailing, ground handling and airport security operations.

Unifi’s arrival in Jersey coincides with Gama Aviation’s own plans for a significant multi-million-pound investment in a new FBO facility adjacent to its existing operation at Jersey Airport. The project is scheduled to break ground in 2027, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to the Island and to enhancing the experience it provides for passengers, crews, and aircraft operators.
