Vertis Aviation appoints Dubai-based Catherine Buchanan to Chief Commercial Officer

Vertis Aviation has announced today the promotion of Dubai-based Catherine Buchanan to Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), effective immediately. In her new role Catherine, who is currently General Manager of the company's Dubai office, will steer commercial development of the business, with a particular focus on the EMEA region. Her responsibilities will include international sales and business development, budget planning, managing relationships with aircraft owners, and advising on putting aircraft into service.

Catherine's Dubai location at the epicentre of the EMEA makes her perfectly positioned for her new role. She will report directly to the company's Board at its Zug, Switzerland headquarters.

Catherine will continue to focus on the company's particular strengths, namely its capabilities managing long-range, large cabin, luxury aircraft charter with a focus on personalised service. She will also draw on Vertis Aviation's strengths as a boutique-style business with its clear understanding of a client's individual wants and needs.

Catherine has worked in the Middle Eastern aviation market for over eight years including three years at Vertis Aviation. She previously worked with leading international business aviation companies. She holds a degree in Aviation Technology and a private pilot's licence.

Jeffrey Emmenis, Partner, Vertis Aviation commented, "We are very pleased to promote Catherine to the role of CCO. She had been integral in our success in the region and it is a logical next step to maximize her skills internationally.  As we look to stimulate growth in the charter of large-cabin, long-range aircraft, particularly in the EMEA, her experience in this area, and her Middle East location position her well for this challenge. We anticipate that she will take Vertis to even greater heights."

Catherine adds: "I am very pleased to take up the challenge of the role. Vertis Aviation's reputation for detail, combined with its luxury brand is highly regarded, particularly in the EMEA region and I look forward to developing the company's successful business even further."

Vertis Aviation specialises in long-range business aircraft operating out of the Middle East, Europe and South Africa.  It currently markets three Airbus A319 ACJ's, a Boeing Business Jet BBJ1, Gulfstream G450 and G650, a Bombardier Global 6000, Global XRS and a Challenger 350.
