Gama Aviation becomes first aviation sponsor of The Simpson Cup.

Thursday 31st July 2014

Gama Aviation, the global business aviation services company, is supporting the Simpson Cup as a new sponsor of The Ryder Cup style golf tournament which sees teams of injured servicemen representing the UK and the USA competing for the prize.  It is the first time an aviation company has supported the event, which is now in its third year and will be held from 5-8 October at The Congressional Country Club, Bethesda, MD.

All proceeds go to the On Course Foundation in the UK, and its sister Foundation in the USA, which uses golf to help injured service members and veterans recover physically and regain the confidence to get their lives 'back on course'.  It provides them with opportunities to play and improve their skills and connects them with work experience and training opportunities within the golf industry.  All the players in both teams are members of the On Course Foundation.

"Gama is delighted to support the valuable contribution the On Course Foundation makes to the recovery and future prospects of our service men and women who have given so much for our safety and security.  Sponsoring The Simpson Cup demonstrates our commitment to the military community and aligns with our growth strategy in the military support services market", said Duncan Daines, Chief Marketing Officer, Gama Aviation.

Gama Aviation has continually grown its military support services business over the last four years; supporting the Ministry of Defence increase the lifespan and utility of a number of training, surveillance and front line platforms.  Gama Aviation is also a key partner to military contractors requiring specialist skills from avionics to airworthiness management.
