Women in Corporate Aviation Scholarships announced for 2013.

Scholarship funds amounting to over $44,000 will be awarded to projects programme-wide.

Women in Corporate Aviation (WCA), the US based not for profit organization announces today its innovative annual scholarship competition for women and men who wish to further their careers in corporate aviation. A total of eight highly attractive scholarships are on offer with a combined value of over $44,000 covering a wide range of business aviation disciplines including flight training, maintenance, crew emergency procedures, flight attendant training, aircraft dispatcher training, department management and career development programmes. Scholarship opportunities have been kindly donated by some of the major players in the industry including Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, Universal Weather and Aviation, CAE SimuFlite, Aircare FACTS, MedAire, Susan C. Friedenberg, The Home Depot and WCA.

To be considered for the WCA scholarship programme, applicants must be active members of WCA and some awards require they be US Citizens or residents. The deadline to submit an application by e-mail to WCA is August 12th, 2013. Awards will be presented at the 66th annual NBAA 2013 Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition on October 23rd, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was exactly what I needed to fill a gap in my training as a safety SMS professional. The knowledge I gained will also assist me greatly at work for our upcoming stage 3 IS-BAO certification and also in finishing my graduate degree."

The WCA scholarship programme was established over 20 years ago to support talented women and men seeking to deepen their knowledge and further their careers in aviation. To date, the WCA programme has awarded over 100 scholarships to talented students and professional in a wide range of corporate aviation disciplines. Formed in 1993, WCA is an organization dedicated to providing networking, education, mentoring and scholarship opportunities for women and men seeking a profession in corporate aviation.
