Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s award-winning carrier, will introduce direct flights from Frankfurt to Almaty on 2nd October, with departure times optimised to meet connections from the UK cities of London Heathrow, Birmingham, and Manchester by partner Lufthansa.  Both airlines operate from Frankfurt Terminal 1 providing seamless connections in both directions. Frankfurt to Almaty joins Air Astana’s network twice weekly initially, increasing to three a week from 26th October, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, operated by its newest fleet addition – the Airbus A321LR (long range).

An early morning arrival from Almaty to Frankfurt also enables convenient connections across European and North American destinations operated by Lufthansa.

The new service from Almaty, Kazakhstan’s second city, follows the resumption of services from Nur-Sultan to Frankfurt in August.  It also complements additional services from Frankfurt to Uralsk, taking the number of flights from Kazakhstan to Germany’s premier commercial centre to eight per week.

I’m delighted to announce the increase of services between Kazakhstan and Germany, which deliver maximum connectivity with partner airlines across Europe and North America,” said Air Astana Vice-President Richard Ledger.

A321LR’s ultimate ‘throne seat’

The Airbus A321LR brings a new high level of cabin comfort for Air Astana passengers, configured in an extremely spacious 166-seat layout – 150 in economy and 16 in business class.   The A321LR business class cabin features Thompson Vantage lie-flat seats that extend to 78 inches and 16-inch personalised IFE screens.   Economy seats, designed by Recaro, offer a generous 33 inch seat pitch, 18 inch in width, fitted with 10 inch IFE seat back screens.

The cabin’s layout comprises five rows in a 2-2 and 1-1 configuration including the introduction of the ‘jewel in the crown’ throne seat.

Ideal for passengers travelling on their own, these unique seats are located in rows two and four, offering the ultimate in isolation.  Overall, the A321LR’s cabin has attractive mood lighting and benefits from enhanced storage space and increased headspace owing to its curved design.
