Cannes AirShow 2013 welcomes debut exhibitors and incorporates high-end car and boat section.

Friday 31st May 2013

Ahead of the 7th Cannes AirShow, to be held 6th to 8th June at Cannes International Airport, Adone Events, the show organisers, have announced that this year's event will see the inclusion of a number of debut exhibitors as well as the addition of a new luxury car and boat area. The annual show, now in its seventh year, is dedicated to the General Aviation sector in Southern Europe and will showcase a wide range of aviation exhibitors including major manufacturers of executive and light aircraft, as well as international suppliers and service providers.

Making its debut at Cannes will be Italy's Blackshape Aircraft, manufacturers of the Blackshape Prime ultra-light sports aircraft. Its appearance follows hard on the heels of winning Flieger Magazine's award for "Best Airplane in the world in 2013" (ultralight category) at the annual German Friedrichshafen show so is expected to be a highlight in France. Also new to the show will be UK-based Aeris Aviation who as Europe's exclusive distributors for Eclipse Aerospace Inc, will be demonstrating its Total Eclipse 500 aircraft. For genuinely interested purchasers demonstration flights of the twin-engine aircraft will be arranged from the airport. Aeris will also promote the soon to be delivered Eclipse 550, said to be the most efficient twin-jet available when it comes to market later this year.

Adding to the mix, and reflecting the calibre of the visitors, the organisers have initiated a new dimension with the introduction of an area dedicated to high-end boats and cars. Top marques such as Ferrari, Bentley, Audi, BMW, Lexus, and Infiniti will exhibit adjacent to premier boat manufacturers such as Sunseeker.

"The Cannes AirShow is primarily an aviation event enabling visitors to find out about the latest trends, products and services for General Aviation. However we know that they are always looking to maximise their time and by positioning boats, cars and aircraft together we can ensure they can gather a lot of relevant information in one single show," says Didier Mary, Show Director.

In addition to the new luxury brand area the show will feature a number of GA's latest aircraft types. Cirrus Aircraft will be presenting the new Generation 5 Cirrus Aircraft which is the fifth generation of Cirrus aircraft and is a redesigned version of the SR22/SR22T. It represents recent Cirrus innovations including Cirrus Perspective™ avionics by Garmin®; Cirrus Known Ice Protection™; Perspective Global Connect™ satellite communications; 60/40 FlexSeating™; and the unique Cirrus Airframe Parachute System™ (CAPS). The SR22/SR22T has been one of the best-selling GA aircraft now for over a decade and it is anticipated this fifth generation version will be of great interest to visitors. Piper Aircraft will be displaying three aircraft from its new range and is hoping to build on last year's successful attendance having sold six aircraft at the event.

Also returning is Daher Socata which will showcase its TBM 850 Elite Version which is of appeal to the visitors owing to its flexible seat configuration, versatile cargo space, and stylish interiors featuring leather seating, and Garmin Synthetic Vision Technology™. Beechcraft will also present its new version of the latest Baron G58, the Bonanza G36 and the KingAir C90 GTX.

Regular features of the show will once again include the popular pre-owned aircraft brokerage market which last year saw a significant number of aircraft traded. France's Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association will be holding its General Assembly at the event, this year on the Saturday. A full range of GA OEMs will be displaying their models and include Pilatus, Diamond Aircraft, Pipistrel, Tecnam ,Cessna, CTLS, Dynamic, Corvus, VL3, amongst others.  Representation from helicopter pilot schools, financial and insurance services, maintenance companies, accessories and avionics manufacturers will complement the static during the three day event.
