Vueling’s find a fare that suits the budget is driving passenger loyalty

Monday 2nd August, 2010

With the economic crisis, air passengers travelling for leisure are determining their flight destinations based on a set budget via its website www.vueling.com.

Four months after the launch of Vueling’s ‘Farefinder’ more than 54,000 customers have selected this option to call up pre-determined budget flights.

Vueling’s newly launched Farefinder option on the website has encouraged 54,000 passengers, three times more than those who used this option in March, its first month of operations, as a means to organize trips working to a fixed budget, rather than a destination. In just four months, the tool has become a winning anti-crisis option for many cost conscious consumers. Some 40% of those clients has found, and consequently, purchased the best destination that fit the budget they expected to send.

After accessing the link of the Farefinder at www.vueling.com, the client is asked the maximum price he is prepared to pay for a return ticket. He/she then chooses the airport of origin, departure date, days to be spent away from home and the number of passengers travelling. With all this information Vueling presents the various options (destination cities) which you can fly to for the money.

According to Vueling, the majority of air passengers are looking for tickets priced between 50 € and 100 € with 80% of those using this option in the travel claim Vueling website within one week. Customers departing from Barcelona, Madrid and Seville in this order, are the most frequent users to track prices. Paris leads the international ranking.
