Vueling adds Bordeaux to its French route network.

Vueling, the new generation airline, today puts on sale more than 28,000 seats on its new route between Barcelona and Bordeaux, which will start operating on April, 15th. The new connection consolidates Vueling’s steady growth in France. For the 2011 summer season routes to and from the country represent 1,908,000 million seats, representing 20% of the company’s total and making France Vueling’s biggest market outside Spain.

From Spain, the total number of seats to France is divided among the 672,120 seats from Barcelona on its three French routes, Paris, Toulouse and Bordeaux; and now nearly 900,000 seats on the routes operated from 11 national airports (La Coruna, Alicante, Ciudad Real, Ibiza, Madrid, Malaga, Mallorca, Santiago, Sevilla, Tenerife and Valencia). Besides the connection with Spanish airports, Vueling will also operate four routes within France: Paris – Rome, Toulouse – Nice, Toulouse – Venice and Prague Toulouse.

World heritage Bordeaux is the seventh largest city in France and is known internationally for its wines and gastronomy. Its urban area has been declared World Heritage by UNESCO. The new route will have three weekly flights on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday in both directions.

Vueling transported approximately two million passengers to or from France in 2010. The total number of passengers carried to or from France since the company was founded in July 2004 is more than 6.5 million passengers.
