Snowjet starts ski flight sales for winter 2010/2011 with Sion increasing to three times weekly

Wednesday 5th May, 2010

Snowjet has announced its timetable for the winter 2010/2011 season, highlighting increased frequency on the Stansted-Sion route to three times weekly from 18 February. Reservations for ski flights to Chambery and Sion for next winter can be made online at www.snowjet.co.uk with lead in fares starting from £49 and £79 respectively, one way, including taxes.

Snowjet introduced exclusive flights to Sion for the 09/10 winter ski season, providing the only scheduled services from the UK to this exclusive and efficient Alpine airport. Flying direct to Sion, in the popular Swiss Valais Region, is the fastest route to some of Switzerland’s top ski resorts, including Zermatt, Verbier, Saas Fee, Crans Montana, Nendaz and Veysonnaz. In addition, Sion airport handles a low volume of passengers, so skiers don’t have a long wait at baggage reclaim or at check-in, enabling them to spend longer on the slopes.

“Our passengers have loved the time-saving benefits afforded by flying direct to Sion,” said David Lacy. “This season we are providing more capacity on the route and flexibility for our passengers, by increasing frequency to Sion to three-times weekly from mid-February 2011, with conveniently timed departures on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.”

The Sion flights complement Snowjet’s established routes, from Gatwick, Stansted, Bristol and Manchester to Chambery ski airport in the French Alps. Flying to Chambery makes for significant time savings on transfers to some of France’s top ski resorts, including Meribel, Val d’Isere and Courchevel.
