Snowjet introduces direct London Stansted-Sion flights from December
Monday 13th July, 2009
Snowjet, the ski flight specialist will begin operating direct flights from London Stansted to Sion Airport in the popular Swiss Valais Region, for the 09/10 winter ski season.
Snowjet’s Sion flights will be the only scheduled services from the UK to this exclusive and efficient Alpine airport. Flying direct to Sion is the fastest route to some of Switzerland’s top ski resorts, including Zermatt, Verbier, Saas Fee, Crans Montana, Nendaz and Veysonnaz.
“Passengers will benefit from terrific time-saving advantages by flying direct to Sion,” said David Lacy, Snowjet’s Managing Director. “Verbier, for example, is just 35 to 40 minutes away from Sion, compared with two and a half hours from Geneva. In addition, Sion handles a low volume of passengers, which means skiers won’t have a long wait at baggage reclaim or at check-in, enabling them to spend longer on the slopes. We are also delighted to have secured very civilized flight times, ensuring our passengers can enjoy their winter break to the full.”
Snowjet’s new scheduled flights, operated by Titan Airways’ Bae146-200 aircraft, are configured with just 80-seats with a seat pitch of 32 inches, providing passengers with extra leg room and comfort. The flights (number ZT 6411/2) will operate twice-weekly every Saturday and Sunday from 19 December 2009 through to 18 April 2010, departing London Stansted at 1000, arriving Sion at 1300. From Sion, departures are at 1400, arriving London Stansted at 1500 (local times). The exclusive flights are bookable now at www.snowjet.co.uk from just £49 one way, including all taxes and a free 20kg baggage allowance.
The new route to the Swiss Alps, complements Snowjet’s established routes, between Gatwick, Stansted, Bristol and Manchester and Chambery ski airport in the French Alps. Flying to Chambery makes for significant time savings on transfers to some of France’s top ski resorts, including Meribel, Val d’Isere and Courchevel. All Snowjet’s Chambery routes are available from just £29 one way, including taxes and a free 20kg baggage allowance.
Snowjet is also offering free ski carriage on all bookings made up to 31st August. Snowjet flights are ATOL protected, giving passengers’ financial protection and peace of mind.
