Newquay Cornwall Airport welcomes Ryanair back to Cornwall

Monday 2nd March, 2009

Newquay Cornwall Airport is delighted to announce the return of Ryanair and its daily flights between Newquay Cornwall Airport and London Stansted from today, 2nd March.

Andrew Mitchell, Cornwall County Council’s Economic Portfolio Holder commented: “This demonstrates the commitment between Cornwall County Council and Ryanair to provide travellers with a fast connection to London and the East Anglian region. It also supports our belief that the future of the airport is bright and together with Ryanair and our other airlines, we will continue to play an important role in the development of airline passenger services to and from Cornwall.”

Ryanair’s Maria Macken commented: “To celebrate Ryanair’s return to Newquay, Ryanair is offering 1 million seats for travel across Europe in March, April & May beginning at £2 today Monday 2nd March and increasing by £1 every day until Monday 9th March when they will reach £9. These seats include taxes and charges and will be snapped up fast.”

Karen Medweth, Newquay Cornwall Airport’s Head of Commercial Development commented: “We are very pleased to see Ryanair’s return to Newquay Cornwall Airport, providing this well established route to the Capital. This route is particularly popular with leisure travellers who are looking to make the most of their time exploring Cornwall and the South West region and we hope to see more visitors this year as holiday makers overlook the Euro-zone in favour of holidaying closer to home.”
