Fosh Food launches new range of Delicatessan products to consumer market
Mallorca based cuisine company Fosh Food, has launched an exciting new range of delicatessen products for the consumer market. The products have been inspired by sources from around Europe and include Italian pasta, Spanish wine, Mallorcan olive oil, and a selection of rice. All items have been carefully selected for their superior quality to ensure users have the best products possible to create great dishes. The philosophy of using quality ingredients at the heart of good cooking, is the foundation for the cuisine created by Marc Fosh, co-founder, head chef and director at the Fosh Food business.
The products, each of which have been personally tested by Marc, are accompanied by a Fosh Food recipe collection featuring a selection of easy to replicate dishes incorporating the ingredients from the Fosh range. Each recipe guides the user through simple steps culminating in delicious dishes such as Watermelon Gazpacho, Garganelli a la Putanesca, or chilled Strawberry and Balsamic soup.
“We’ve chosen to launch products most people will use on a regular basis in their kitchen, they are basic essentials really,” says Marc Fosh, “We carefully selected suppliers that provide the best in their field. This will ensure that buyers can produce great dishes at home to enjoy and impress their friends with. We hope the recipes we’ve created will also help to stimulate other ideas too.”
The simple, clean style of Fosh’s food is reflected in the innovative packaging design created by the team at London based Simmer agency. Inspiration for the design came from the products themselves and Marc’s inspired presentational style, culminating in the use of bold colours and the pure white backdrop of the chef’s serving plate. Like Marc’s cuisine there is also a touch of the abstract giving the products a really unique feel. The final concept reflects the openness of the people behind the product range, and the packaging features a logo incorporating Marc’s signature and image to give it that extra personal touch.
Prices range from 4 Euros for the Carnaroli pasta to 13 Euros for 500ml olive oil and are currently available at Fosh Food Gourmet Centre and the Simply Fosh Restaurant in Palma. The Fosh team are currently in discussions with a number of outlets in the UK and are exploring distribution options through out Europe.
The full product range comprises -
Olive Oil – The Fosh Oil, is sourced from the Es Guinyent Finca in Alcudia, Mallorca which produces the delicious Solivellas family oil. Produced at their country estate the sea breezes, fresh mountain rain and baking summer sun combine to create an oil with a balance of intensity and flavour. As a first cold extraction press this is an extra virgin oil, using the Arbequina and Picual olives. Regulated by the Oli de Mallorca grading system, the DO (Designation of Origin), oil is of superior quality and offers the taste buds an explosion in the mouth with hints of apple, herbs, mint, ripe fruits, walnuts, artichoke and banana. 13 Euros
Aged Balsamic – The balsamic vinegar is aged in 18th century oak to create a natural blend of sweet and sour flavours. As an aged vinegar it’s as good with salads and meat dishes as it is with desserts. It can also be used to create unforgettable gastronomic experiences such as chilled strawberry and balsamic soup which is just one of the accompanying Fosh recipes. 10 Euros
Fosh White Wine – Produced in the Murcia region of Spain, Fosh White Wine is made in the DO region of Yecla. With a history of wine production dating back to the Phonecians this is a relatively small wine producing area of Spain using a variety of grapes to produce deep rich reds and crisp whites. The Castaño family who own the Bodega Castaño have worked industriously to put Yecla on the international wine map and it is from this Bodega that the Fosh White Wine originates. The wine has been carefully selected for its crisp pale yellow colour that gives a clean and glossy appearance. Using 100% Macabeo grapes, the light flavour is well balanced with good acidity giving tastes of white fruit, mountain herbs and aromas of fennel to produce a crisp wine perfect to accompany any Mediterranean fish dish. 9 Euros The Fosh Red is due any time now.
Fosh Salt – Traditionally harvested from Mediterranean sea water these bright, large salt crystals have a very distinctive texture and quickly dissolve to release a clean, pure and salty taste. Used to top one of Fosh’s signature dishes, chocolate truffle with olive oil, this salt is well balanced to accompany both savoury and on occasion sweet dishes. 7 Euros
Fosh Rice – Not content with one-rice-fits-all Fosh offer three types of rice, each chosen for their particular qualities. The Venere rice is an ebony coloured rice which transforms every day dishes into mouth watering, and attractive dishes. The wonderful nutty texture is ideal for accompanying fish and game dishes. The Fosh Carnaroli rice is perfect for the risotto fan and the Fosh Basmati is the ideal accompaniment to salads, curries or other spicy dishes. From 4 Euros
Fosh Pasta – Like the rice Fosh has chosen more than one pasta for the range. The Durum Linguine is perfect for absorbing sauces so ideal for traditional dishes such as Linguine Vongole. The Fosh Egg Garganalle has a beautiful deep colour and bold twisting shape making it ideal for rich meat or creamy pasta dishes. 5 Euros
