Farnborough Airshow takes off at Aviator

Wednesday 21st July, 2010

Aviator, Farnborough’s luxury design hotel, made an impact yesterday on the opening day of the 2010 Airshow, unveiling their sleek marketing partnership with luxury aviation watch brand, Breitling, whose large billboard image graces the side of the hotel. From Tuesday Aviator will also be joined by supercar marque McLaren who will be showcasing their MP4-12C on the lawn next to Aviator’s exclusive terrace. The brands using Aviator reflect the interests of the hotel guests who are staying at there during the week and using the hotel for exclusive hospitality.
Aviator began Farnborough Airshow week hosting industry events as the 2010 Airshow revved up for business. CFM International held a media briefing charting progress on its new Saffron Leap-X powerplant on Saturday in the hotel’s Sky Lounge venue. The finishing touches were also being put to its own chalet on the lawn where the hotel will entertain invited guests from Wednesday through to Saturday. International aerospace companies including Raytheon, Bombardier and Diamond Aircraft are among those hosting corporate hospitality during the week in the hotel’s Brasserie, private rooms and chalet.

On Wednesday Asian Aerospace 2011 is bringing an Asian theme to the Sky Bar entertaining guests who have expanding interests in China and Asia. That same evening there will be a reception for IAWA, the International Aviation Womens Association.

TAG Farnborough Airport and TAG Aviation are hosting all their hospitality at Aviator, which is conveniently located just a short walk from the main show entrance at Gate B. Breitling, will welcome 180 VIP guests on Sunday to enjoy the atmosphere of the hotel and the show.

“It’s going to be a great week,” said Aviator General Manager Michael Helling. “At our own chalet we look forward to demonstrating the benefits of our corporate hospitality packages, chalet options, evening receptions and meeting rooms to those that may wish to attend in 2012 or that have business in Farnborough year round.”

“Aviator is a great product and we will be maximising our presence at the Farnborough Show this week by entertaining industry executives and non-aerospace VIPs,” said Brandon O’Reilly, Farnborough Airport CEO. “We are lucky to have this fabulous hotel with its prime views over the show site, integrated with the Airshow.”

Since opening two years ago, Aviator has quickly become an international destination due to the unique proposition of the hotel and airport facilities. It has become a favourite with leading businesses in the area including BAE Systems, FlightSafety International, QinetiQ, TAG, Nokia, Novartis and CSC. Aviator has also played host to successful product launches for the likes of Estee Lauder, Vertu, Cadbury, Audi and just last week, Saab.
