ExecuJet’s ‘Flocking to the City’ joins the Elephant Parade
Thursday 20th May, 2010
This summer, the ExecuJet Aviation Group will team up with Elephant Family, the only charity solely dedicated to ensuring the survival of the Asian elephant, to take part in Elephant Parade. London’s biggest ever public art event will see some of the capital’s best-loved landmarks brightened up by the arrival of more than 250 beautifully decorated, life-size elephants.
Each elephant has been individually hand–painted by an assortment of established and emerging talent from the art and design world. ExecuJet’s elephant, ‘Flocking to the City’, depicting white doves flying over the London skyline, was painted by 28-yr old Vicky Scott, a London-based illustrator. The flight theme perfectly fits its sponsor, the ExecuJet Aviation Group. Niall Olver, CEO of ExecuJet said. “We are delighted to sponsor Elephant Family and are certain that ‘Flocking to the City’ will bring a smile to passenger’s faces.”
The elephants, destined to become highly collectable works of art, will grace some of London greatest landmarks including Leicester Square, The Royal Parks, Covent Garden and Tower Bridge from May to July, turning the capital into an urban jungle. They will then be herded together in one of London’s parks for a magnificent group exhibition before being auctioned by Sotheby’s at an event aiming to raise more than £1 million for the critically endangered Asian elephant.
London City Airport is the capital’s premier business airport and home to ExecuJet’s UK base which features an exclusive passenger lounge. The facility opened at the airport’s Jet Centre in 2008, which adds an extra level of customer service to complement flight operations, charter sales and aircraft management support services provided by the UK Operations Department. In the first quarter of 2010, the ExecuJet Aviation Group bolstered its European fleet with the addition of seven new aircraft. The company added a Challenger 300, Challenger 850, two Global Express’, one Global 5000, one Falcon 2000 and a Gulfstream 100. These aircraft are based in London, Moscow, Kiev, and Nice.
