Al Bateen Executive Airport Gears Up for F1 Grand Prix
Thursday 28th October, 2010
Abu Dhabi, UAE: The GCAA certified Al Bateen Executive Airport, the Gulf Region’s first and only dedicated private aviation airport, operated and managed by Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), is taking the lead in promoting the UAE as the hub for business aviation in the region through announcing an attractive offer during the Etihad Airways’ Formula 1 Grand Prix season. The executive airport will provide landing and parking services free of charge to all executive jets arriving into Abu Dhabi between 10th and 14th November 2010.
Endorsing ADAC’s initiative, Ali Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA), said: “Al Bateen Executive Airport is determined to lead the executive aviation industry in Abu Dhabi and the region, and this Formula 1 offer is a proactive initiative on behalf of its management to further promote the airport, specifically for business aviation and in general, in the UAE during this mega event of 2010.”
“As the Chairman of the Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA), I commend ADAC’s and Al Bateen Executive Airport’s commitment to this industry, and wish all business aviation personnel arriving at Al Bateen Executive Airport an exciting F1 viewing and very pleasant stay at Abu Dhabi.”
Yousef Al Hammadi, Deputy General Manager at Al Bateen Executive Airport, stated: “ADAC is continuously thriving to provide unmatched services to its niche clientele, guests and operators. The aim is to encourage clients to use Al Bateen Executive Airport as their travel hub of choice, based on the comfort and convenience we offer.”
“Time efficiency, flexibility, professionalism and credibility combined are the factors that today’s executives are looking for in their travel solution. Al Bateen Executive Airport is tailoring its services and offers to ensure these factors are built in all its practices and operation. Hence, such services and offers will provide competence to operators of private jet aircraft during this season. We’re confident to say that our guests will be pleasantly surprised with both the state-of-the-art facilities and quality services provided at the airport during the F1 event,” Al Hammadi concluded.
The airport’s strategic location, providing business travellers with direct access to the central business district of the capital city, and a 15 minutes’ drive to the Yas Island, is the main benefit of this facility.
Having access to a private customized airport also provides the ability to save time, offering short transits and waiting times for the aircraft, maximizing time in Abu Dhabi. In addition, the VIP terminal at Al Bateen Executive Airport provides passengers with flexible and fast immigration and security services, thus enabling them to leave the executive airport within few minutes of landing.
Based operators at Al Bateen include Al Jaber Aviation, Falcon Aviation, Prestige Jet, and XO Jet.

About Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC)
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) is a public joint-stock company wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi Government. It was incorporated by Amiri Decree number 5, issued on 4 March 2006, to spearhead the development of the Emirate's aviation infrastructure. In September 2006, ADAC assumed responsibility for the operation and management of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain International Airports. In 2008, ADAC added Al Bateen Executive Airport (an exclusive private aviation airport), and Sir Bani Yas and Delma Island Airports to its portfolio. These airports are geared to serve the various segments of air travellers, the aviation marketplace, and will help contribute to Abu Dhabi’s development as a destination for both business and leisure tourism.
Currently under way is the multi-billion dollar re-development and expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport designed to increase the overall capacity of the airport to more than 20 million passengers per year. As part of this redevelopment, a second runway and a third terminal have been completed.
