Airline Services opens new Interiors Workshop at London Stansted

Airline Services Limited (ASL), the UK’s leading provider of aircraft interior and ramp presentation services is further expanding its portfolio of services with the opening of a brand new Interiors Workshop at London Stansted Airport (STN) for its airline customers.

The new 3,500 sq ft facility which opened at the beginning of September performs repair and refurbishment of laminated items such as sidewall panels, cargo bay panels, bulkheads, dado rails, monuments, galleys, overhead bins. In addition, the facility will shortly have capability for sheet metal and composite work.

Speaking in advance of the MRO Europe Show in London this week, Director of Engineering Simon Sixsmith said: “This new facility brings an added dimension to Airline Services already extensive capabilities whilst offering what our customers have come to expect from ASL – namely industry leading quality, fast turnaround times and a flexible approach to each customer’s individual needs, all at a highly competitive price.”

Airline Services Ltd has been established for more than 20 years as a leading provider of support services to the airline industry in the UK. Services include cabin interior and aircraft exterior presentation, seat repair and overhaul, carpet manufacture and installation, interior cleaning, aviation laundry, seat cover and curtain manufacture. ASL has facilities at ten major UK airports: Birmingham; Bristol International; Edinburgh; Glasgow; London Gatwick; London Heathrow, London Luton; London Stansted; Manchester and Newcastle.

Airline Services is also the UK’s largest independent de-icing supplier, providing a reliable and professional aircraft de-icing service to more than 50 domestic and international carriers

Airline Services Group comprises five main divisions – Ramp Operations (de-icing, interior and exterior cleaning, carpet fitting, presentation and laundry at ten UK airports). Engineering and Workshop activities (Part 21 Design J and G Design and Manufacture, Part 145 EASA repair and overhaul of avionic, galley and IFE equipment) are carried out at Manchester.
