Airline Services Components Ltd wins new business from Avianova of Russia

Tuesday 27th October, 2009

Airline Services Components Ltd (ASC), part of the UK-based Airline Services Group, announced today an agreement with new low-fare Russian carrier Avianova, ASC will provide wheels and brakes support to the new Airbus A320 operator – which is initially starting out with two 180-seat jets fitted with Goodrich wheels and brakes, London Gatwick-based ASC won the work in the face of stiff competition from several other providers.

ASC will support Avianova’s wheels and brakes under a CPAL (Cost Per Aircraft Landing) pricing agreement. “Airlines, especially start-ups such as Avianova, are increasingly looking for suppliers who can provide CPAL deals because it reduces their initial investment, removes risk and enables them to budget and plan accordingly,” said ASC Managing Director Chris Hooley.

ASC provides a range of component support services to a number of airlines from its headquarters at London-Gatwick, drawing on a substantial stockholding of Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 Series rotable components which includes wheels and brake assemblies. The company is currently looking to expand its warehousing capacity and hopes to secure additional premises before the end of 2009 which will help it to meet growing demand for its services.

Avianova, has opened seven destinations already from its Moscow Vnukovo Airport base to seven domestic destinations - Sochi, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Astrakhan, Samara, Naberezhnye Chelny and Kazan’.

Avianova is offering some of the lowest fares yet seen in the Russian domestic market, starting at under US $ 9 one way, available through its website, www.avianova.ru

ASC works with a number of OEM’s and high quality repair organisations in order to assist in the provision of nose to tail component services for its customers. The senior management team at ASC has amassed significant experience in the aerospace industry covering a range of disciplines from commercial and supply chain management within the airlines through to MRO and power-by-the-hour (PBH) management with major stockists and parts suppliers. ASC has built up a solid reputation for speed, flexibility and reliability in the supply and management of rotable parts on the basis of, exchange, loan, lease, sale or PBH/CPAL agreements.

ASC supports an under-served area of the market through its expertise in the management of wheel and brake programmes, already providing support on a CPAL basis for a number of operators in Central and Eastern Europe for a range of aircraft types.
