Air Partner organises more humanitarian relief flights to Haiti

Thursday 23rd December, 2010

Air Partner, one of the world’s largest aviation providers, is flying 100 tonnes of urgent medical supplies from Madrid-Barajas Airport to Port au Prince, Haiti, today on a Boeing 747 freight charter on behalf of a leading humanitarian aid agency.

Arranged by Air Partner’s newly appointed London Gatwick-based freight broker Mark Turner, the relief charter is the latest in an on-going series of flights the company continues to co-ordinate to Haiti from its offices around the world. Last week an MD11 Freighter operated a similar aid flight to the destination, also out of Spain. “It was especially heartening to dispatch flights just before Christmas for such a worthwhile cause,” commented Clive Chalmers, Air Partner Freight Manager.

Throughout 2010 the Air Partner Group has arranged numerous humanitarian aid relief flights carrying vital cargo, medical suppliers and personnel, plus support workers and vehicles, in the wake of the devastation that beset the country on January 12. Air Partner was one of the first into Haiti and will continue to source vitally needed transportation for aid agencies for as long as required.

Air Partner has 20 offices around the world and considerable experience in arranging repatriation and relief flights in times of natural disasters. Marking its 50th year in 2011, the company is a trusted partner working with the UN, EU, NATO and leading non-government agencies such as the Red Cross.

Air Partner plays a vital role assisting victims in every kind of disaster and has arranged flights to Sudan, Chad, Pakistan, Indonesia, Ethiopia and Afghanistan. Its operational planning skills and the expertise of its staff mean that the company can organise flexible rapid deployments into difficult and hostile areas.
