Emerald Media UK

Emerald Media UK was founded in 1993 by principal Alison Chambers, an aviation journalist. Based in Hampshire, UK, Emerald Media has offices around the world and is one of the key founders of newly established aviation consultancy www.leadingedgecommunications.aero.

The team:
Alison started her career as a journalist on the Air Transport desk of Flight International, She joined Shephard Press in 1986 as editor of newly launched title Commuter World, dedicated to the emerging regional airline market, before becoming founding editor of Commuter/Regional Airline News International, a weekly newsletter devoted to the regional airline industry. After selling the title to PPI in 1993 she established Emerald Media as a dedicated specialist aviation agency. First clients were Crossair of Switzerland and BAE SYSTEMS Regional Aircraft. Alison is a member of APRO (Airline Public Relations Organisation and the Aviation Club of Great Britain).

Helen Stevens
Helen has some 20 years experience in consumer PR, originally working on advertising and editorial campaigns for Saatchi & Saatchi and British Telecom. She was in house PR for Flying Pictures before joining Emerald Media. Helen has led key PR campaigns including the transformation of UK regional airline British European to low cost Flybe.

Celia Turner
Celia Turner has a background in aviation journalism having served as assistant editor at the Royal Aeronautical Society’s Aerospace International magazine and provided freelance work for leading aerospace publications. She has specialized in aerospace PR for over 20 years and has expertise in media relations, UK Government bid campaigns, crisis and issue management, event management and executive communications training. Sector experience includes aerospace, defence, transport, as well as science and high technology. Celia has provided PR support to Westland/GKN Aerospace, Gulfstream Aircraft, Lockheed Martin UK, BAE SYSTEMS (Tanker programme) and Evans & Sutherland.
