Pre-empting business aviation regulatory requirements, Gama Aviation's investment in its SMS initiative is aimed at further enhancing the levels of both safety and service delivery.

The Gama Aviation team operates and delivers services in some of the world most challenging locations and environments. Gama's commitment includes on-going investment in enabling its employees to deliver an even safer and supportive operational environment for its customers.

One of the first of these new initiatives is the launch of Gama's 'Safety in Numbers' campaign. This programme highlights 10 areas of safety, operational and environmental risk. The campaign provides a structured and risk focused approach for the Gama team to proactively manage and explore opportunities for improvement.

"Meeting and exceeding our business aviation regulators requirements has been an integral part of our business since Gama Aviation began operating nearly thirty years ago, " said Hannah Smith, Safety Manager, Gama Aviation. "Our innovative and fully integrated 'Safety in Numbers' campaign ensures everyone in the Gama team can respond to the challenges that face us all in the industry and further demonstrates our commitment to enhancing our safety culture in particular. The campaign is one way to ensure our team understand the risks that exist within our industry, so that we can support them to make the smartest and safest decisions."

About The International Civil Aviation Authority

The International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO) sets the global standard for continuous improvement in global aviation safety. As such, the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has outlined a requirement for all regulated Aviation operators to implement a Safety Management System based on ICAO standards.

The implementation of a Safety Management System ensures formal methods of identifying hazards, assessing and mitigating risk and promoting a safety culture are in place all under the auspices of an independent accountable executive.
