Monday 13th August 2012

London Oxford Airport today announces the appointment of Ms Andi Pargeter as the new Managing Director. Andi commences her new role immediately and will be reporting directly to the airport owners.Andi replaces former MD, Chris Orphanou, who, after 18 months at Oxford, is moving on to pursue new opportunities.

Aged 31, Andi is joining an elite group of women in aviation as not only is she one of the youngest, but also one of the very few female airport MDs in the country and indeed in Europe. She will be responsible for leading the airport's continued development and will also work closely with sister airport, The Barclays London Heliport to maximise opportunities between the two.

Andi brings a wealth of valuable experience to the role. Since 2010 she has been the Head of Finance for London Oxford Airport; and for the last six months has worked within the group finance organisation for the airport's owners, the Reuben Brothers. Andi was closely involved in the acquisition of the London Heliport earlier this year and is familiar with the owner's other aviation interests.

Andi brings a strong business development and financial background to the role following a career that has seen her work with the finance team for FTSE 100 company Capita plc which is the UK's leading business processing outsourcing group. Within the transport sector she worked for the world's leading transport operator, FirstGroup plc, a FTSE 250 company.

Born, educated and living in Oxfordshire, Andi is both proud and delighted to have been appointed to this position with what is one of the UK's fastest evolving regional airports.

"Having worked with the London Oxford Airport team for two years I know that I have a great set of colleagues who understand what it takes to make an airport successful. London Oxford is one of the most progressive and dynamic airports in the UK and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to expand its remit, identify new prospects for the future and maximise the opportunities presented by the Reuben Brothers' recent purchase of the Barclays London Heliport too. Working alongside Chris for the last 18 months has been of great benefit to me in moving into this new position," says Andi, commenting on her appointment. "I wish her the best in her new role and know she will bring much to what is already a successful and thriving airport," commented Chris.

She remains supported by the airport's established management team, including James Dillon-Godfray, Business Development Director, Mike Sparrow, Airport Manager, Tony Farmer, Head of Sales & Route Development, Dan Jones, Airside Operations Manager and Alison Evans, Senior Air Traffic Controller.

London Oxford Airport opened its doors to its award-winning Oxfordjet business aviation terminal in July 2008, which now handles an ever-increasing number of daily business aviation movements, especially from international visiting jets originating from as far afield as the Caribbean, Middle East and Africa.

Ongoing investment has seen new hangars, a strengthened apron, new fire tender and a state-of-the-art Thales radar going live at the beginning of July. This summer Oxford-bound traffic has also benefitted from notable enhancements in approach procedures and speed of access to the airport with separation times between inbound aircraft more than halved, safely allowing a much higher throughput.

London Oxford Airport provides rapid access to London, the Thames Valley, South East and the UK's Central Business region. Just an hour by car from London's West End, or 22-minutes by helicopter shuttle to The Barclays London Heliport, the airport offers daily 0600-22:30 operations, making it one of the most accessible business aviation hubs for the nation's capital city.
