Media Invitation: Air Connectivity Matters - the presentation

Friday 13th March 2015

With a new South East runway in prospect, and national and international connectivity ever more important economically, a new approach to air linkbetween Britain's regional airports and London and its major airports is required that makes equitable access and reduced dependence on foreign hubs feature more prominently in government aviation policy. The National Connectivity Task Force will address this agenda when it presents the findings of its research and outline the recommendations it has made to the Airports Commission and UK Government on Monday, 16th March, 2015 at 15:00 hrs.

'Air Connectivity Matters - Linking the Nations and Regions of Britain to London and the wider global economy' will be presented by National Connectivity Task Force Chairman Lord Shipley.

He will be joined by industry speakers including Dr Adam Marshall, Executive Director (Policy and External Affairs) British Chambers of Commerce.

You are cordially invited to join an audience of policy-makers, aviation and travel industry representatives and regional and business leaders at a one-hour briefing at:

Hilton DoubleTree Hotel,

30 John Islip Street,

Westminster, London

SW1P 4DD

Time: 15:00hrs to 16:00 hrs

Refreshments will be served from 2.30 pm

*A 15-strong independent Task Force, headed by Lord Shipley, was formed last summer focused on examining the current and future requirement for improved connectivity between the UK's regions and the major hub/gateway airports short-listed by the Airports Commission. The Group comprises international and UK experts from across academia, the aviation industry and the UK's nations and regions.   www.nationalconnectivitytaskforce.co.uk.
