AMAC Aerospace, a leading provider of corporate aviation maintenance and completion services has completed its first interior refurbishment project wholly designed by its own professional in-house design team. The project entailed refurbishing the existing cabin configuration of a Bombardier Global Express. The refurbishment project, which was undertaken at AMAC's state-of-the-art headquarters at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, involved a high degree of precision engineering, attention to detail and quality workmanship.

The entire refurbishment process, which took eight months to complete, used only the highest grade materials. The project comprised eight reworked seat back shells and arm rests which were partially covered with perforated leather; six reworked bulkheads, two divans, and three tables; new carpet throughout and a newly fitted VIP lavatory. The completed interior features five single and two double business class seats and night configuration for sleeping.

With AMAC's goal to deliver a thoroughly modern look, the in-house design team used visual effects and colour to successfully achieve the result. Warm greys and a stylised red accent stripe which was incorporated throughout the cabin were chosen to give a modern, unified dynamic look and feel. Different textures such as leather, embossed leather, microfiber, and wood were used with great effect to demonstrate different tones and shades of colour.

The exterior livery of the aircraft was painted in accordance with a customized scheme which reflected the modern red accent stripe.

Commenting on the project, Bernd Schramm, Group Chief Operating Officer said: "Our skilled craftsmen and women made the transitional leap from an existing cabin configuration to a new design and delivered a superb, thoroughly modern product. AMAC continues to demonstrate its capabilities as a significant centre for completion and refurbishment throughout the world,"
