The UK's 10th Business and General Aviation Day (BGAD) at Cambridge International Airport on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 is ramping up for yet another successful show.  Supported by the UK British Business General Aviation Association (BBGA), the day will kick off with a state of the industry update by Marc Bailey, CEO at 10.15 am, followed by two free to attend seminars.

'Business Turboprops Versus Light Jets - the renaissance' an interactive Question Time style panel discussion will run from 11 am until 12 noon. Richard Koe, Managing Director of WINGX Advance, will field questions to Textron Aviation, Embraer and operators (including SaxonAir, FlairJet, Synergy Aviation, Suraviation of Spain and new UK fractional Route1 Aviation) will throw light on how the business turboprops have found their niche again in the UK and Europe.

'Fuel for Thought' will follow at 12 noon. Moderated by aviation expert David Curgenven from consulting firm DCA International, sponsored by Air BP, with Shell Aviation and AvFuel, will come together with operators and airport/FBO representatives Quintessentially Aviation Handling, London Biggin Hill Airport and Centreline Air - operator and handler - to address such topics as what the fuel companies are doing to win business and what influences an airport on which provider to work with.

Some 66 exhibitors including OEMs Embraer, Textron Aviation, Daher-Socata and Nextant Aerospace have registered to attend the event which this year is sponsored by Shell Aviation.  Operator participants include ExecuJet, Gama Aviation, FlairJet, Blink, SaxonAir and Jota Aviation, complemented by 10 business aircraft on the static.  Most of these aircraft are available for charter, or for sale and available for potential buyers to view.

Daher-Socata will display the TBM-900 for the first time in the UK; Embraer is bringing the Phenom 300 light jet, FlairJet will show a Cessna Citation XLS midsize jet and SaxonAir/Nextant Aerospace makes its BGAD debut with the Nextant 400XTi.

As the exclusive sales distributor for the UK and Ireland for all Beechcraft piston and turboprop models, Marshall Aviation Services (the business aviation arm of Cambridge-based Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group) will have a strong presence at the show. Marking the 50th anniversary of the start of Beechcraft King Air production, the day will pay special tribute to the King Air family with several models on display including Jota Aviation's Beech B90 King Air Cargoliner, believed to be the oldest King Air still flying, Textron Aviation's latest Beech King Air the C90GTx; plus Dragonfly Executive Charter's Beechcraft Super King Air 200.

Notable exhibitors include Gama Aviation who are sponsoring a Park and Ride service; Bob Crowe Aircraft Sales, newly appointed UK sales representatives for the Viking Twin Otter Series 400 and Guardian 400 aircraft. Additional attractions will feature a display of top quality cars, courtesy of Marshall Motor Group (MMG). Cars on display will include: Jaguar XF; Jaguar XF Sportbrake; Jaguar XJ and Jaguar F-Type.

In a celebration to mark the 50th anniversary of the start of Beechcraft King Air production, and the 105th anniversary of the Marshall Group, Marshall Aviation Services is sponsoring an after-show dinner for visiting delegates and exhibitors in the dining hall of the famous Corpus Christi College at Cambridge University. As an added unique feature, the executive jet in-flight experience provider On Air Dining will treat guests to a selection of freshly blended cocktails during the evening.

Mark Ranger, BGAD Organiser said: "Now in its 10th year, BGAD has become one of the highlights of the UK business and general aviation calendar.  With close to 70 exhibiting companies, two quality free to attend seminars, a static display and an opportunity to network with business aviation colleagues, BGAD continues to be a strong business offering for delegates."
