AFBAA marks second anniversary with impressive list of milestones.

The African Business Aviation Association will be marking two years of activity when it exhibits at this year's EBACE on stand 5542. The Association officially launched at EBACE 2012 when it presented its new mission and vision to provide a single pan-African unified voice representing the interests of Business Aviation across the continent. Founding Chairman Tarek Ragheb promised to deliver a professionally run, well funded, active association, and in just two years AfBAA's team has achieved exactly this with a remarkable set of milestones demonstrating the momentum the Association has gathered since inception significant milestones include : -

May 2012 - Tarek Ragheb announces to international media the launch of the new Association with 26 paid up Members.

October 2012 - New membership categories announced to embrace the full spectrum of Business Aviation - Launch Membership, Affiliate Membership and Supplier Members now encouraged to join.

February 2013 - Following the Founding Member's first general meeting a white paper,  "The State of Business Aviation in Africa - A Road Map for the Future" was commissioned and delivered just three months later.

April 2013 - Africa Sky the Association magazine is first printed and issued to EBACE delegates, in addition to over 10 000 high net worth individuals and government officials.

May 2013 - Founding Member number 20, JetNet, announced after just one year in existence. Total Founding Members now number 21.

June 2013 - Morocco's CAA joins AfBAA when Marrakech Civil Aviation Authority signs up as an honorary member. AfBAA was then also honoured to have Nigeria's CAA as an Honorary Member.

September 2013 - First AfBAA symposium heralds start of series of pan-continental discussions with 126 delegates representing 70 companies participating.

 April 2014 - First AfBAA Expo - Africa's first dedicated business aviation exhibition launched in Marrakech following requests from members for a dedicated platform. Events included a Military luncheon, Exclusive Gala Dinner and African Sky Party.

April 2014 - In response to financing issues raised at the first AfBAA symposium. AfBAA, announces formation of new fund dedicated to financing aircraft purchases in Africa.

"We are extremely proud of our accomplishments," commented Ragheb about what we have  achieved. When we launched we stated we would be active, dynamic and motivated to best represent aircraft owners, operators and suppliers on the continent. Looking at these milestones I believe we have more than surpassed our own, and members' expectations. We have very solid foundations on which to build and can only see the Association increase momentum and deliver our promise of promoting the development of a sustainable Business Aviation sector that will enhance and strengthen the continent's economy.

AfBAA will be exhibiting at the EBACE convention on booth number 5542. Founding Members EAN Aviation and Dalia Air will also be exhibiting on the same stand.
