Budapest Airport celebrates the launch of new Wizz Air route to Baku, Azerbaijan

Budapest Airport celebrated the launch of the all new Wizz Air route to Baku, Azerbaijan on Tuesday, June 18th. The inaugural Airbus A320 flight departed Budapest at 21:25 local time creating a direct link between the two cities for the first time in history. Patrick Bohl, Head of Airline Business Development, Budapest Airport and János Barits, Airport Development Manager, Wizz Air, celebrated the landmark event with a cake handover ceremony. The maiden flight represents the start of year round schedules between the two capitals.

The  Budapest-Baku service will initially operate twice a week (Monday/Tuesday and Saturday/Sunday) with seats  available from as low as €38 /HUF 10,990* (one way, including all taxes) bookable at wizzair.com.

Budapest to Baku schedule

Mondays and Fridays:

Depart BUD 21:25hrs - Arrive GYD 04:10 (next day)

Tuesdays and Saturdays:

Depart GYD 04:45 - Arrive BUD 05:50hrs
